Our vision for a safe workplace and a safe culture

At Rail First, we care about the wellbeing and safety of the people around us and are committed to creating and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, customers, visitors and the communities through which leased equipment runs.  We make safety central to everything we do.

We have a disciplined and focused approach to safety, including clear guidelines for employees regarding work tasks, rollingstock operation, and maintenance issues. 

We hold ourselves accountable with reporting and setting targets for key safety outcomes including total reportable injury frequency rate (TRIFR) and our annual safety culture index.
