Taking steps to achieving a more sustainable tomorrow
As Australia transitions towards a sustainable, low carbon economy, rail’s contribution to lower emissions, the health of communities, and the connectedness of cities has never been more significant. As a leading provider of tailored transportation solutions, Rail First has an important role to play in enabling the modal shift from road to rail, meaning sustainability is embedded at the core of our business.
We have an established Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, underpinned by our core values and sustainability principles. This includes short and medium-term ESG goals for 2025 and 2030 and sets out our reporting and governance framework. Rail First has identified ESG objectives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and reports on its ESG progress annually in alignment with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards framework.
We believe that diversity and inclusion means ensuring that individuals from different countries, cultures, ethnicities, generations – and all other unique differences in our backgrounds that make each of us who we are – are treated fairly, equality, and with respect. We believe that a diverse workplace makes us a stronger company and through our ESG and recruitment strategies we look to achieve greater diversity and inclusion in our team.
As we look forward, Rail First is committed to continuing to improve its services and products for the Australian Rail Market, as well as leveraging our unique capabilities and market position to deliver ESG improvements to the transport market.
